What Is Laser Therapy To Quit Alcohol?

At Ottawa Laser Solutions, operated by 1530910 Ontario Limited, Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) is offered as a non-invasive, wellness-based technique to support individuals who have decided to quit or reduce alcohol use.

LLLS involves the gentle application of low-intensity laser light to specific energy points on the body, including the feet, hands, ears, nose, and head. The goal is to promote relaxation, reduce tension, and support urges during the transition away from alcohol use.

This service is intended as a personal wellness support and is not a substitute for medical care, addiction treatment, or professional counseling. Clients are encouraged to consult their doctor before making changes to health routines.

Lazer Dave has extensive experience in the wellness field and uses advanced European laser technology as part of this unique, non-medical approach supporting individuals who want to quit or reduce alcohol use. Services are provided by 1530910 Ontario Limited, operating publicly as Ottawa Laser Solutions.

Laser Quit Sessions utilizing Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) are designed to:

  • Encourage the body’s natural endorphin release

  • Support brain-body rebalancing and neuroplasticity

  • Help ease the transition away from alcohol-related habits

This wellness-based technique draws inspiration from traditional systems that stimulate energy points on the body, but uses no needles—only gentle, targeted laser light.

While LLLS has conceptual similarities to approaches sometimes referred to as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), cold laser, or photobiomodulation (PBM), it is offered here solely as a non-medical, wellness-based support.

How Does Laser Therapy Help Me Quit Alcohol?

During a Laser Quit Session, gentle, low-intensity laser light is applied to specific energy points on the body, including the feet, hands, ears, nose, and head. This non-invasive process is believed to support the body’s natural ability to rebalance and promote relaxation by encouraging the release of feel-good chemicals such as endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin.

Emerging research on low-level laser therapy (LLLT) suggests it may also support neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to adapt, rewire, and form new patterns over time. While Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) is offered solely as a non-medical, wellness-based support, it draws inspiration from principles found in LLLT and related light-based approaches.

Together, these effects may help ease the transition away from nicotine by reducing tension, promoting emotional stability, and supporting follow-through on your personal decision to quit or reduce use of alcohol. LLLS provides a wellness-based way to stay grounded, focused, and aligned with your goals.

About Alcohol and Quitting Challenges

Alcohol is deeply woven into many social routines and coping mechanisms, which can make reducing or quitting use feel especially challenging. For many individuals, the transition brings both physical and emotional adjustments, such as changes in sleep patterns, mood swings, cravings, or feelings of anxiety.

Over the years, approaches such as counseling, medications, and support groups have helped many people shift their relationship with alcohol. However, some individuals may also wish to add or utilize a wellness-based support option to complement their personal journey.

Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) offers a non-invasive, wellness-centered technique that may help support the body and mind through the transition — encouraging relaxation, emotional balance, and focus without introducing any new substances into the system.

Please note: Laser Quit Sessions are not a substitute for addiction treatment, medical care, or professional counseling. Clients are encouraged to consult their doctor or healthcare provider for any medical or mental health concerns.

Ottawa Laser Solutions Approach With Helping Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms Using Laser Therapy

Most important is your desire to quit. Subsequently, Dave subscribes to a 2 step method in helping people to reduce alcohol withdrawal symptoms using laser therapy:

STEP ONE — COMMIT + PREPARE

Quitting alcohol begins with a strong commitment to change. After you make your first appointment and complete the deposit, you will be emailed the Laser Quit Therapy Prep Guide.

The Prep Guide outlines key habit change suggestions, and other information when combined with laser quit therapy, may increase your chances of quitting alcohol. The guide is not a replacement for medical or professional advice, it is purely for informational purposes only.

STEP TWO — LASER THERAPY TREATMENT

Use laser therapy to treat various energy points on the face, ears, hands, and feet to help reduce symptoms related to alcohol withdrawal and cravings.

RJ Laser Therapy
Dave uses sophisticated laser therapy equipment from Germany in his treatments.

What Happens Before My First Laser Treatment To Quit Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms?

After registering for your first treatment, and completing a $50 deposit you will be emailed the Laser Quit Therapy Prep Guide. The Prep Guide contains essential information and key habit change suggestions that can help maximize results. You should try to follow any suggestions that make sense to you and are approved by your doctor or related health professional.

PLEASE NOTE: Laser quit therapy treatment, and the Laser Quit Prep Guide should be considered an adjunct therapy and NOT a replacement for the medical advice of a doctor, psychologist, professional counselor, group support, mental health support service, or similar. Always consult a doctor regarding changes or use of medications, alcohol, supplements, etc., and any other health concern. Laser therapy employed by Ottawa Laser Solutions is NOT a medical treatment NOR intended to treat medical conditions including alcohol use disorder (AUD).

What To Expect On Your First Laser Treatment To Quit Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms?

When you come for your first laser to quit alcohol treatment, you will get comfortable by lying down on a comfortable treatment table.

Ottawa Laser Solutions will conduct a health history, explain the procedure, give you an opportunity to ask questions, then request you to wear protective eyewear. Ottawa Laser Solutions will then use various laser devices to treat “energy” points on the face, ears, neck, arms, wrist, hands, lower legs, and feet.

You may feel a slight warm or similar pleasant sensation on the areas treated. As the points are stimulated with the laser light, you may feel a strong sense of relaxation thereby indicating your body is likely releasing endorphins and other positive neurochemicals that can have a strong effect on alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

When you come for your first laser to quit alcohol treatment, Lazer Dave will:

  1. Complete an intake by reviewing your health history, quit alcohol goals, and main concerns regarding quitting.
  2. Explain the procedure (benefits, potential side-effects, etc.), and answer any remaining questions.
  3. Ask for treatment consent, get comfortable on a treatment table, and wear protective glasses.
  4. Begin treatment starting with the feet, then the hands, ears, nose, head and fingers.
  5. Review key habit change suggestions, and strategies to boost laser results.
  6. Book your second appointment, usually within a week or two.

You may feel a slight warm sensation on the areas being treated. As the points are stimulated with the laser light, your body should begin to release endorphins and other powerful neurochemicals that promote a pleasant sense of relaxation.

What to Expect After Your First Laser Therapy Treatment To Quit Alcohol

After your first laser therapy treatment for quitting alcohol withdrawal cravings, you may feel more relaxed, calm, and have less withdrawal cravings. In addition to treating you with laser, behavioral practices will be reviewed and then your second appointment (included with the program fee) is scheduled.

While most find positive results with two treatments, depending on their circumstances, some may require additional “booster” treatment for longer-term success. Booster treatments cost $85+ taxes.

For challenging/chronic cases, it is recommended that clients consider 3-4 treatments spread out over 3-4 weeks. Results are not guaranteed.

Is There Scientific Research Supporting Laser Therapy for Quitting Smoking, Nicotine, Tobacco, Alcohol, & Illegal Drug Use?

Yes—there is scientific evidence supporting the use of low-level laser stimulation on acupuncture points (also called energy points) to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and support individuals for smoking cessation.

For example, a published study on Painless Laser Acupuncture (PLA) for smoking cessation concluded that laser stimulation of specific ear and body points not only helped participants stop smoking, but also supported overall balance and well-being through the body’s natural regulatory processes.

Laser therapy scientific study on PubMed.gov.

Conclusion: The PLA (Painless Laser Acupuncture) technique for smoking cessation not only helps smokers stop smoking but also restores their homeostasis and good health. By utilizing optimal auricular points, body acupuncture points, and meridian channels and applying proper laser energy dosages, the homeostatic and healing processes can be synergized.

Another study involving the NADA auricular acupuncture protocol found that participants reported improved mood, energy, and reduced tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drug use at both the 3 and 6-month follow-ups.

Laser therapy scientific study on PubMed.gov.

Conclusion: Participation in NADA was positively associated with feeling better about oneself, improved energy, the likelihood of employment upon discharge, and decreased tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drug use.

While laser therapy is not a mainstream medical treatment, this compelling research suggests that stimulation of acupuncture points—whether by laser or needle—may offer meaningful support during the quitting process.
