What Is Laser Therapy To Quit Marijuana or Cannabis?

At Ottawa Laser Solutions, operated by 1530910 Ontario Limited, Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) is offered as a non-invasive, wellness-based technique to support individuals who have decided to quit or reduce marijuana or cannabis use.

LLLS involves the gentle application of low-intensity laser light to specific energy points on the body, including the feet, hands, ears, nose, and head. The goal is to promote relaxation, reduce tension, and support urges during the transition away from marijuana or cannabis use.

This service is intended as a personal wellness support and is not a substitute for medical care, addiction treatment, or professional counseling. Clients are encouraged to consult their doctor before making changes to health routines.

Lazer Dave has extensive experience in the wellness field and uses advanced European laser technology as part of this unique, non-medical approach supporting individuals who want to quit or reduce marijuana or cannabis use. Services are provided by 1530910 Ontario Limited, operating publicly as Ottawa Laser Solutions.

Laser Quit Sessions utilizing Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) are designed to:

  • Encourage the body’s natural endorphin release

  • Support brain-body rebalancing and neuroplasticity

  • Help ease the transition away from marijuana or cannabis-related habits

This wellness-based technique draws inspiration from traditional systems that stimulate energy points on the body, but uses no needles—only gentle, targeted laser light.

While LLLS has conceptual similarities to approaches sometimes referred to as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), cold laser, or photobiomodulation (PBM), it is offered here solely as a non-medical, wellness-based support.

DISCLAIMER: Laser Quit Sessions and the Laser Quit Prep Guide are wellness-based support tools provided by 1530910 Ontario Limited. How Does Laser Therapy Help Me Quit Marijuana?

During a Laser Quit Session, gentle, low-intensity laser light is applied to specific energy points on the body, including the feet, hands, ears, nose, and head. This non-invasive process is believed to support the body’s natural ability to rebalance and promote relaxation by encouraging the release of feel-good chemicals such as endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin.

Emerging research on low-level laser therapy (LLLT) suggests it may also support neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to adapt, rewire, and form new patterns over time. While Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) is offered solely as a non-medical, wellness-based support, it draws inspiration from principles found in LLLT and related light-based approaches.

Together, these effects may help ease the transition away from nicotine by reducing tension, promoting emotional stability, and supporting follow-through on your personal decision to quit or reduce use of marijuana or cannabis. LLLS provides a wellness-based way to stay grounded, focused, and aligned with your goals.

Laser Therapy as a Supportive Wellness Method

At Ottawa Laser Solutions, we strongly encourage individuals to continue working with their doctor, counselor, psychologist, therapist, or other qualified health professionals regarding any substance use concern—including marijuana or cannabis.

Laser therapy is offered as a non-medical, wellness-based approach that is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition including substance use disorders. The primary goal is to serve as complementary method to help reduce the intensity of marijuana withdrawal symptoms through gentle, natural stimulation of key energy points on the body.

About Marijuana and Quitting Challenges

While cannabis is legal in Canada and may have wellness applications for some individuals, frequent or prolonged use can sometimes lead to patterns that feel difficult to change. Some sources suggest that approximately 30% of regular users may experience challenges with reducing or quitting.

When someone decides to cut back or stop cannabis use, they may notice a variety of physical and emotional adjustments as the body and mind rebalance. These can include irritability, mood swings, sleep disruption, low appetite, restlessness, or a general sense of discomfort. The intensity and duration of these sensations can vary widely from person to person.

These shifts are believed to reflect changes in the body’s natural chemistry—particularly in the endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating sleep, mood, and motivation.

Low-Level Laser Stimulation (LLLS) offers a non-invasive, wellness-based technique that may help support individuals during this transition by promoting calm, focus, and emotional balance without introducing new substances into the system.

Please note: Laser Quit Sessions are not a substitute for addiction treatment, medical care, or professional counseling. Clients are encouraged to speak with their doctor or mental health provider before making changes related to substance use.

Ottawa Laser Solution’s Approach to Helping Address Marijuana Withdrawal Symptoms

The most important factor in quitting a marijuana habit is your personal desire to change. From there, Ottawa Laser Solutions uses a supportive two-step approach to help individuals navigate the withdrawal process in order to reduce cannabis use with laser therapy.

STEP ONE — COMMIT + PREPARE

Quitting marijuana starts with a strong commitment to move forward. After booking your first appointment and paying the deposit, you’ll receive the Laser Quit Therapy Prep Guide by email.

This guide includes helpful recommendations on mindset, habit changes, and other wellness strategies. When combined with laser therapy, these recommendations can increase your chances of successfully quitting for good.

STEP TWO — LASER THERAPY

Laser therapy is then applied to specific energy points on the ears, face, hands, and feet using gentle, low-level laser devices. This stimulation is intended to support the body’s natural balance, ease withdrawal symptoms, and reduce cravings—with the goal to make the quitting process feel more manageable.

Ottawa Laser Solutions uses sophisticated laser therapy equipment from Germany.

What Happens Before My First Laser Session?

Before your first appointment, you’ll be asked to pay a $50 deposit to confirm your booking. Once your session is scheduled, you’ll receive the Laser Quit Therapy Prep Guide by email.

This guide includes helpful tips on habit changes, lifestyle adjustments, and supportive wellness suggestions that can enhance the effectiveness of laser therapy and improve your chances of long-term success.

Please note: The Laser Quit Therapy Prep Guide and laser therapy sessions are not a substitute for medical advice, professional counseling, group support, or mental health services. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider regarding any physical, mental, or emotional health concerns.

What To Expect at Your First Laser Therapy Session

During your first laser quit cannabis session, Lazer Dave will guide you through a calm, personalized process to ensure you’re informed and comfortable.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Initial Intake: We’ll review any health concerns, quitting goals, and any key challenges you are concerned about.

  • Explanation of the Process: You’ll learn about how the therapy works, the intended benefits, and any possible sensations or mild side effects.

  • Consent & Comfort: You’ll be asked to provide consent for treatment, lie comfortably on a treatment table, and to wear protective eyewear.

  • Laser Application: The session begins with gentle laser stimulation to specific energy points on the feet, followed by the hands, ears, nose, head, and fingers.

  • Strategy Review: After your treatment, Lazer Dave will review key habit-change suggestions and offer practical tips to help you get the most from your session.

  • Follow-Up Booking: Your second appointment is typically scheduled within one to two weeks.

You may feel a slight warmth or tingling where the laser is applied. Many people report a sense of relaxation and calm as the session progresses. These effects are part of how the body may respond to the gentle stimulation of energy points using laser.

What to Expect After Your First Laser Therapy Session

After your first laser therapy session for quitting cannabis, many people report feeling noticeably more relaxed, calmer, and less affected by withdrawal symptoms. These responses are part of how the body can react to the stimulation of energy points using laser and the natural release of feel-good neurochemicals.

In addition to providing laser therapy, Lazer Dave will review behavioral strategies to support your quitting journey. Your second session—included in the program fee is typically scheduled within 1 to 2 weeks.

While two sessions are often enough for many individuals to experience meaningful results, others may benefit from additional “booster” sessions, particularly in more challenging situations or when long-standing habits/challenges are involved.

Please note: While laser therapy offers supportive potential benefits, individual results can vary and cannot be guaranteed.

Is There Scientific Research Supporting Laser Therapy for Quitting Smoking, Nicotine, Tobacco, Alcohol, & Illegal Drug Use?

Yes—there is scientific evidence supporting the use of low-level laser stimulation on acupuncture points (also called energy points) to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and support individuals for smoking cessation.

For example, a published study on Painless Laser Acupuncture (PLA) for smoking cessation concluded that laser stimulation of specific ear and body points not only helped participants stop smoking, but also supported overall balance and well-being through the body’s natural regulatory processes.

Laser therapy scientific study on PubMed.gov.

Conclusion: The PLA (Painless Laser Acupuncture) technique for smoking cessation not only helps smokers stop smoking but also restores their homeostasis and good health. By utilizing optimal auricular points, body acupuncture points, and meridian channels and applying proper laser energy dosages, the homeostatic and healing processes can be synergized.

Source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29937971/

Another study involving the NADA auricular acupuncture protocol found that participants reported improved mood, energy, and reduced tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drug use at both the 3 and 6-month follow-ups.

Laser therapy scientific study on PubMed.gov.

Conclusion: Participation in NADA was positively associated with feeling better about oneself, improved energy, the likelihood of employment upon discharge, and decreased tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drug use.

In summary: While laser therapy is not a mainstream medical treatment, the above research suggests that stimulation of acupuncture points—whether by laser or needle—may offer meaningful support during the quitting process.

Is Laser Therapy Safe?

Yes—laser therapy is a non-invasive, well-tolerated wellness technique that is generally considered safe when used appropriately. It uses low-intensity (cold) laser light, which is nonthermal and does not promote strong heat, so there’s no risk of burning or tissue damage.

Most clients find sessions deeply relaxing, with a noticeable sense of calm and reduced tension during and after the session.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Adverse side effects from laser therapy are rare. Most clients report feeling more relaxed after their session, with some noticing improved sleep or a greater sense of calm in the days that follow.

Many individuals are pleasantly surprised by how much more manageable cannabis withdrawal symptoms can feel with the support of laser therapy—especially when combined with the recommended habit-change strategies.

Is Laser Therapy Painful?

Not at all. Only gentle, low-intensity laser light is used during your sessions—there are no needles or invasive techniques involved.

Most clients describe the experience as pleasant. Some report mild sensations such as warmth, light pressure, or a calming heaviness in the arms and/or legs as the body responds to the treatment.

How Many Laser Sessions Will I Need?

The Ottawa Laser Quit Marijuana Program includes an initial session, followed by a second treatment—ideally scheduled within two weeks of your first appointment. Dave asks that you complete the 2 sessions included with each laser quit program before judging results.

In some cases, especially when habits are long-standing or withdrawal symptoms are more intense, additional “booster sessions” may be recommended to support longer-term relief and success.

Please note: Results can vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.

How Much Does the Program Cost?

The Ottawa Quit Marijuana Laser Program costs $350 + HST. This includes the initial laser therapy session, plus a second session to be used within two weeks of your first appointment.

If additional booster sessions are needed to support your progress, they are available at a rate of $85 + HST per session.

Please note: A $50 deposit is required to confirm your booking and is applied toward the program fee. This deposit is part of our commitment policy and is non-refundable.

Why A $50 Deposit?

Many people ask, “Why does Lazer Dave require a $50 deposit for all laser quit programs?”

The answer is simple: the deposit helps ensure that each client is truly committed to their quitting journey. It reflects intention and follow-through—two key ingredients for success.

This policy also helps maintain the high level of care, success rates, and client satisfaction that Ottawa Laser Solutions has built over the years. Your time is valuable, and so is ours—this deposit ensures mutual respect and a focused, results-driven experience.

How Long Are Sessions?

Your first laser session typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes, allowing time for intake, questions, and the therapy itself.

Follow-up or booster sessions usually take 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your individual needs and progress.

Who Performs the Laser Sessions? How Is the Service Billed? What Will My Receipt Show?

All laser sessions are performed by 1530910 Ontario Limited, the registered business name behind Ottawa Laser Solutions. Your payment receipt will list the service under this business name and display a description such as:
“Laser Quit – [Your Program or Booster Session]”.

Does Ottawa Laser Solutions Offer Discounts?

Ottawa Laser Solutions focuses on delivering exceptional value through personalized service, expertise, and results—not by competing on price. Lazer Dave brings a unique combination of acupuncture training from McMaster University, ongoing study of the latest laser therapy techniques, and over 15 years of experience helping clients quit habit-forming substances.

That said, a 10% discount is available for groups of two or more clients booking together. This discount must be requested at the time of scheduling and cannot be applied retroactively after your first appointment is booked.

What Can I Do to Get the Best Results from Laser Therapy?

At Ottawa Laser Solutions, the best outcomes tend to come from clients who are fully prepared and committed to the process. That’s why Dave has made the preparation steps simple, clear, and practical.

To set yourself up for success, please complete these three steps before your first session:

  1. Read the full webpage for the service you’re interested in.
